Does The Premier Talent Group charge any fees for its services?
Absolutely NOT! The Premier Talent Group (PTG) does not charge any fees associated with our services. We do not charge for web listing, copies, phone calls, meetings, etc.
How does The Premier Talent Group get compensated?
PTG keeps it simple. We solicit, acquire and negotiate work on your behalf, and when you get the job, we get a simple 10% commission.
What does SAG stand for and what does it mean that The Premier Talent Group is a SAG franchised agency?
SAG is the acronym for Screen Actors Guild. As a SAG franchised agency, The Premier Talent Group agrees to a number of rules set forth in Rule 16 (g) of SAG Codified Agency Relations. Some of these provisions include the setting of 10% commission as the maximum rate of compensation and the rights and responsibilities of agents in the representation process. SAG reviews the practices, books, accounts, staff and office to ensure that you will be represented in an appropriate and lawful manner. Mr. Jones is currently franchised in the State of Washington and is in the final stages of securing his license and franchise status in California.
Do you need to be a member of SAG to be represented by The Premier Talent Group?
PTG does NOT require that its actors be members of SAG. However, it should be understood that at some point all serious film/TV/commercial actors will be expected to secure and accept membership in SAG. This is imperative for any actor who wishes to act in larger markets such as Los Angeles or New York.
What attributes does The Premier Talent Group look for in prospective clients?
The Premier Talent Group looks for three particular items in each of its clients: 1) Talent: we offer a frank and honest evaluation of your talent and your prospects. 2) Maturity: this intangible can be the major difference between a long and fulfilling career and a short-lived frustrating experience. 3) Commitment: this career requires you to commit a great deal of your time and energy into continued growth and development.
Can PTG make me a star?
If you run into any agency that tells you they can make you a star … RUN AWAY! No one can guarantee stardom or even success in this field. Many actors will toil away in obscurity before they land their first major role. George Clooney was known as the king of failed pilots before a little show named ER. What an agency can do is commit that it will work hard to get you auditions. The rest is up to you…
What is the difference between a talent manager and an licensed agent?
An licensed agent is legally authorized to solicit and negotiate work on behalf of a client. In the State of California, it is illegal for any individual or organization to solicit and negotiate work for an actor other than a licensed agent. In short, anyone can say they are a talent manager … so be careful. The best Talent Managers are very experienced (many are former agents or industry related professionals) individuals who can successfully guide your career and work as a team player with your agent.
